Collaborative Tools

Thursday 15 January 2015, by ClaireH

Professor: Robert Coale

At the end of this course, the students are asked to create a collaborative website as this one using the program Spip. To be able to do this, we created two other websites using different programs in the course of the semester.

The first program we used was Google Sites. It is very simple to use, but the websites it creates are not very elaborated. Google sites lacks in flexibility; for instance it is not possible to change the ’theme’ of the website once you’ve selected one. However, this program is perfect for beginners and for a first approach of the creation of a website.

The other program we used was Wordpress. It was a little harder to use because the moderators have the possibility to modify more parameters. The final website looked way better with this program.
This course is the most practical of the semester and lets the students express their creativity!

You can take a look at our Google Sites about 60s and 70s music, Illumaniti, crazy places and a French rapper.

Observe our improvements on our Wordpress sites about Paris 8 food spots, witchcraft and selfies.

Finally, enjoy our last creation by visiting MC2L la vie est belle and don’t forget to check our classmates’ works here and here.
